An idea born of necessity
Like many great ideas, the Vet Sled was developed as a practical solution to a pressing problem.
For Craig Stratton – the out-of-the-box thinker behind the Vet Sled – inspiration came in the form of Missy and Sapphire, wife Julie’s miniature Shetland ponies who fussed and fretted when faced with the vet or farrier.
Recovering from a life-threatening spell of ill health, Craig, a former mining consultant living in Western Australia, rose to the challenge.
Applying his brilliant engineering brain and drawing on his experience growing up on a dairy farm, Craig developed the concept for a mobile enclosure that effectively brings the treatment area to the animal.
Aptly named by Julie because of its ski-like base that enables it to glide over any surface, the Vet Sled offers numerous benefits for vets, farriers and groomers, as well as breeders of large animals, and allied animal health professionals such as animal chiropractors, dentists, physiotherapists and acupuncturists.
And anyone else involved in equine care and management, stabling and agistment, or the care, grooming and handling of other large animals.
The Vet Sled goes wherever you need it to go, making it ideal for any scenario, from farms, cattle stations, veterinary hospitals and stables to hobby farms, rural properties and riding schools.
The Vet Sled is available as a single or double pen to best suit your needs.
The Vet Sled makes grooming and health care safe, convenient and stress-free.
The Vet Sled enables your horse, pony, alpaca, cow, llama, pig or donkey to stay in their own familiar surroundings while receiving health care or being groomed.
The Vet Sled enables you to arrange animal medical checks and health care on your property, eliminating the need for what can be costly transport arrangements getting large animals to the vet.
